Laparoscopy Myomectomy- Solution For Uterine Fibroids

Amongst many gynecological complications in women, uterine fibroids are most common. Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous tumors in the female genital area that can develop at any stage of life. The size of the fibroids also varies from a few inches to centimeters or may be more than that. The condition is characterized by severe pain, heavy bleeding, and increase in the size of the uterus. The uterine fibers are also referred to as leiomyoma, leiomyomata, myoma and fibromyoma. The condition can be detected by keeping a tab on the symptoms which include- Heavy & unusual bleeding (blood clots) during menstrual periods Pain in the pelvic region, legs, back Pressure on the bladder (frequent urge to urinate) Enlarged abdomen Painful sexual intercourse Depending upon the position of fibroid inside the uterus, they can be divided into- Subserosal Fibroids: Developed under the outer wall of uterus, these start growing outside through the wall, making a knob like structure. Although, the menstrual cycle is not disturbed, these fibroids cause unbearable pain in the pelvic region, back and pressure on the abdomen. Intramural Fibroids: These fibroids starts developing inside the uterus lining and grows inwards and hence, increases the size of the uterus. One of the most common type of fibroids, it causes heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain and pressure. Submucosal Fibroids: Although, this is the least common fibroid, it is one of the most problematic. It develops under the uterus lining and causes heavy bleeding and prolonged periods. These fibroids can be detected in the early stage by conducting an MRI. Once diagnosed, it is important to perform surgical treatments like myomectomy and hysterectomy to eliminate these fibroids to avoid fatal consequences. However, it is of utmost importance to find the best treatment of fibroid in Delhi so that the case is handled only by qualified doctors and surgeons. Since, myomectomy is conducted to remove only small fibroids embedded in the uterine wall, several small incisions are made. The surgery may take 3-4 hours depending upon the condition of the patients. The Procedure The procedure for myomectomy is conducted while the patient is under the influence of anesthesia. A laparoscope is inserted in the body through a small incision in the naval to view the internal section of the uterus. The surgery is performed by making small incisions near pubic hairline to detach and remove fibroid from the uterus. The stitch is then closed after the surgery. Since, the laparoscopic technology is highly advanced and doesn’t involve complications after the surgery, it is an ideal solution for uterine fibroids. Sunrise Hospital has the best gynecologist in Delhi who are highly efficient in performing laparoscopy hysterectomy and myomectomy. The patients can leave the hospital as early as a day and can recover within two weeks. It is advised that the fibroid removal surgery should be performed as a soon as the condition is detected. Sunrise Hospital is highly recognized as a pioneer in performing successful laparoscopy myomectomy in Delhi.
